Seventh graders study Ecology. Topics range from populations and energy interactions between communities to multilevel interrelationships within ecosystems. Human impacts will be a focus.
Science 8 is a fun
and challenging
course that is based on conceptual understanding of the physical sciences. The first semester is basic Physics (motion, gravity, waves, electromagnetic spectrum, light, etc.), while most of the second semester is devoted to the study of Chemistry (matter, atoms, elements, periodic table, chemical reactions, etc.). Whenever possible, the subjects of Astronomy and Geology are included as well. We start the year with the Big Bang
and the shape of the universe, and we end up the year with quantum particles and the tiniest parts of an atom. There are also many fun and interesting labs throughout the year to keep it all real.
